Momentum doesn't guarantee smooth progress—setbacks are inevitable, but they offer a chance to recalibrate and push forward.
As 2024 comes to an end, I don’t think we have seen a year of progress like this—and optimism for the future—at any point in the two decades of Thursdays where we poked at the Diversity Industry and their carbuncles of Zampolits.
Back in September you might recall that the final arguments were made in Baltimore where the U.S. Naval Academy was on trial for unconstitutional use of race in admissions.
Well, given the carve out from SCOTUS last year, it wasn’t completely unexpected that, as reported in WSJ:
The U.S. Naval Academy can use race as a factor in admissions, a federal judge ruled, rejecting a bid to extend the reach of a landmark Supreme Court ruling that banned the practice at universities.
U.S. District Judge Richard Bennett said military service academies are distinct from civilian universities and that courts have historically deferred to executive and legislative branches in military matters.
“Over many years, military and civilian leaders have determined that a racially diverse officer corps is a national security interest,” Bennett wrote, adding, “This is fundamentally a military personnel issue.”
OK, stop right there. No pouting. SCOTUS precedence has heft and you have to consider who was making the argument on behalf of the military: the Biden Administration.
That is about to change, soon.
After January 20th, the Trump Administration will take charge and redefine the military's priorities.
President Trump has been very clear on his opinion of the Diversity Industry’s destructive march through The Pentagon has done. His choice for SECDEF, Pete Hegseth, has also been clear. I’d ask you to take a moment to listen from the 59:12 mark in his recent interview with Megyn Kelly:
That makes the sale for me.
As a final taste, there is broader movement in the courts coming into line with what we’ve been waiting for. Bit by bit, so much positive progress is being made.
As Cory Liu let us know late Wednesday, “The Fifth Circuit en banc, in an opinion by Judge Andrew Oldham, holds that the SEC acted unlawfully in approving a Nasdaq policy that forces corporate boards to implement an identity-based diversity quota that looks at race, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity, or provide a written explanation for why they failed to meet the quota.“
This DivThu, let not your heart be troubled. Be encouraged, be strong…but stay aware. The commissariat is most dangerous to people personally and the institutions they serve when they realize they are under serious threat to their fiefdoms of money, power, sectarianism, division, and petty grievance mongering.
…but be a happy warrior. As we’ve said for a very long time, their ideas and programs cannot survive the light of day…and more and more light is coming at them.
It’s all good.
The turn around in Hegseth's nomination chances is testament to the incoming administration's ability to shape the information environment. Going after Hegseth "in the same old way" via a Kavanaugh Esque style smear campaign has apparently failed because the incoming administration DID NOT respond "in the same old way". They aggressively attacked the attackers (eg. Iowa and South Carolina senators) convincing them very publicly that the personal cost was too high. Trump has clearly learned A LOT via bitter experience during the first term, election "loss", and endless persecution and prosecution in the media and court system. OBTW a lot of senior officers and government officials (active and retired) participated in the circus because it was 100% in their own personal interest to do so. That "interest" is now under grave threat, and they know it. Question is what is their next move? It ain't over, but the initial exchanges of fire have had atypical results from the usual GOPe history. The screening scout forces have made contact, there is a series of major engagements (confirmations) coming, and the overall campaign is about to rapidly unfold. Fingers crossed...
Here’s a firing that is somewhat tied to DEI
