The judge who gave this thug a reduced sentence should be removed from the bench. Dragged off by his ankles if need be.
The cadet who killed this thug should be awarded the Bronze Star with Combat V and invited to the next SOTUS. We will see if the two Democrat senators will stand and applaud or remain seated per orders from Chuck Schumer.
True. I feel so bad for the USCG. Defending the homeland, inspecting the merchant ships, maintaining the ports, rescuing people at sea, blowing up the drug runners, etc. and Schumer refuses to pay them. I wish Trump would transfer the USCG to the Navy which he can do in times of war.
I understand why maybe not territorial waters, but It's always been unclear to me why it is that the USN cannot board a suspected smuggler in international waters or the EEZ.
I can guess that one reason is that the USCG is "trained for LE"* work. But so are USN MAA's. Don't see a lot of difference other than tradition and extreme angst over Posse Commitatus.
*Though I have to suspect that not every single one, likely not a majority, have graduated the equivalent of an LE academy.
They have already said they would fund the USCG, the TSA and FEMA. The Bills have been written. It is the Republicans who insist that if ICE is not fully funded no other group gets funded.
Many Americans think ICE is out of control. The only power Congress has is the power of the purse, the people’s representatives are carrying out the will of the people.
2. I wish there was video footage of the ROTC Cadets taking down this murderer. Not for some lurid ghoulish lookie-loo purpose but to inform folks of what kind of world we live in and how we should be prepared to act in it. And, yes, if that involves grappling with and stabbing someone to death, then so be it.
3. Norfolk Commonwealth's Attorney, Ramin Fatehi seems to be part of the problem. I find him a repulsive human being.
Absolutely. There needs to be serious accountability here, and I’m not talking about paperwork, I think we need to get out the shiny bracelets and let “authorities” around the country know that their actions have consequences.
The reality is that today, when the justice system makes horrific mistakes that people pay for with their lives and civil rights, the response is “oops! That’s unfortunate.”
Several decades ago a man in Baltimore held a hostage with a knife, and then eventually charged the police with the knife. Something like twenty police surrounding the house, and the guy was shot about 30-40 times - real carnage. On the evening news the body was covered with a sheet and the Chief of Police said, "The suspect has been shot many times and is aparently dead now."
Perhaps rendered that way via several potential reasons at this point. Blunt force trauma to the head while neck snapped during strangulation, Then there is this puncture wound.
It's normally given as a life saving award. I doubt they are going to give BSM (V) to ROTC cadets in the States after NOT doing it for the Ft Hood shootings
Now that president "We may never know his motives" is not in charge and General "What happened at Fort Hood was a tragedy, but I believe it would be an even greater tragedy if our diversity becomes a casualty here". is no longer in charge, I suspect it might happen.
IIRC, a US soldier riding on a passenger in a Paris subway car received the Soldiers Medal for taking down the terrorist because it wasn’t “combat”. There is an Army ROTC Medal for Heroism they could be awarded, only one of two ROTC medals that can then be worn after commissioning.
I think ODU has a solid brick wall somewhere on campus that would suit this POS. Too bad they couldn’t make use of it. But good job soldiers! Close with and destroy the enemy!
And as if on cue, the Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney and FORMER Rep. Elaine Luria came out with oh the humanity, Gun Violence, when is it gonna stop? Both too blind to see this was a terrorist response, against the USA, on US soil.
I note nobody was declaring car violence in the attack in Michigan.
BZ to the ROTC cadets that took immediate action to stop the attack, before the fleet of campus and local police could come clear the area.
What a loathsome man Fatehi seems to be in that video. I am equal parts stunned, angry and disgusted that such a person works within the Virginia Government.
Technically convicted felons shouldn't have such weapons, and murder is still illegal in Virginia, even though the AG is in favor of it, but we see how laws are enforced. Their solution: disarm all of us and peace shall reign.
I'm sure ODU was a "Gun Free Zone." Who would possibly think that wouldn't provide protection?
If it was a democatic adminstration the cadets would probably be investigated for perpetrating a hate crime and depriving the terrorist of his civil rights.
You are being logical. The DA's remarks, and his "analysis" in the face of the facts as currently known, indicate that ideological "messaging" and a healthy dose of "change the subject" diversion discussion are needed to avoid accountability. Really, really wish I hadn't seen this so many times before by the local politicians.
Good Morning CDR, nice write up on the ROTC action at Old Dominion; Everlasting be LtC Shah memory!
In the News this morning, three things:
1. Another female, a California beauty queen, was ousted from the DJT “Inner Circle”, a Faith based group, because she upstaged the C&C at a public speaking event, saying he cared more about Israelis than Americans.
2. ABC News was cautioned about its “non-verified intel source” saying California was at risk from a drone attack.
3. Four crew died in an Air Refueling Tanker “collision” Western Iraq.
About number 3. mum’s the word … until families of the deceased are notified. I’m very sorry for the loss of life.
Shipmates, please be attune to these High Holidays … Ramadan and Christian Pasca (Holy Easter) and continue to keep vigilant! Be honorable in all things, that means always take the high road!
CDR Industry Leaders and Real Estate Wealth have chosen Miami Florida to invest in. Georgia will benefit from an AI Data Center. Perhaps this means our Ship Building capabilities South of the Mason Dixon Line will improve. If you live North of the Mason Dixon Line, hold fast to a good work-ethic! Be there doing the work needed. If you are in New York, be strong! This is America - a Democracy! If listening to Fox News, and it’s sister Sinclair stations, bothers you, find another source for verifiable news. Limit your alcohol intake! Eat healthy, walking steps outside, weather permitting is healthy. If you must smoke nicotine to calm your brain, use it wisely. Hydrate with 16 ounces of water three times per day. Enjoy the sunshine in moderate amounts. Thank you for you “Like Comments”. Very respectfully, Nurse Jane
What did the beauty queen do for this country besides look pretty as she walked down the runway? Donald Trump took a bullet for America not to mention a ton of bogus indictments designed to put him behind bars and strip him of his wealth.
I live in a next-door city. Used to frequently pick up my daughter who attended Governor's school on the ODU campus. Echo giving these ROTC students awards for bravery under fire (literally) when the choice of freezing or running were choices. The remarks by the DA were totally on brand with the politics of the city and now the state as the "Spanberger Effect" continues to gain momentum. Will not be surprised if charges of "excessive force" are considered against the students as details of how they "unalived" the shooter become known. And no, I'm not kidding. At. All.
4th generation warfare is alive and well in CONUS and has been for quite some time. Those who choose to ignore this fact do so at their own peril because there are no victims only volunteers.
Those that will disarm you will never disarm themselves and the shocking truth is that there are a substantial amount of people in positions of power that secretly embrace chaos to retain that power and to terrify an ignorant populace.
Will is the decisive element. With it the fight can begin with a rock or a piece of wood. Without it an atom bomb will not suffice.
No need to wait and see what dems would do, we know.
If transferred to the Navy, USCG loses its law enforcement capabilities absent declaration of martial law.
The criminals can make that case to the judge. I am sure we can find one decent JAG who can argue around that.
I understand why maybe not territorial waters, but It's always been unclear to me why it is that the USN cannot board a suspected smuggler in international waters or the EEZ.

I would posit the thinking is that if they funded everybody but ICE the Dems would filibuster every bill that provided any funding to ICE whatsoever.
Last I understood, voting in the Senate and Congress was based on simple majority save vetoes. Funding is being held hostage by a minority.
1. R.I.P. Col Shah.
2. I wish there was video footage of the ROTC Cadets taking down this murderer. The war was always going to come home, with unfettered immigration how many terrorist came in?
A lot, but the ones who are just copycats are just as bad if slightly stupid.
I look for everything from work accidents making bombs to the eventual IED, Suicide belt and VIED here.
I hope I am wrong.
BADGER PAW SALUTE!
Absolutely. There needs to be serious accountability here, and I’m not talking about paperwork, I think we need to get out the shiny bracelets and let “authorities” around the country know that their actions have consequences.

This isn’t good enough.
"Rendered not alive"
Interesting FBI speak.
Pretty sure that’s code for “stabbed him and beat him to death with their bare hands”
Perhaps rendered that way via several potential reasons at this point. Blunt force trauma to the head while neck snapped during strangulation, Then there is this puncture wound.
"Not alived" seems to be code that originated on YouTube or similar outlet that banned terms like "killed" or "killing."
It seems, like many such things (for the worse, I might add), carried over into normal people's vernacular.
The kids who took down Jalloh better get medals!
This absolutely is NOT an "Everybody Gets a Trophy" case.
Soldiers Medal?
No that's an award for non-combat bravery.
Was not a Jr ROTC cadet who died? in a school shooting awarded the BSM?
IIRC, a US soldier riding on a passenger in a Paris subway car received the Soldiers Medal for taking down the terrorist because it wasn’t “combat”. There is an Army ROTC Medal for Heroism they could be awarded, only one of two ROTC medals that can then be worn after commissioning.
I think ODU has a solid brick wall somewhere on campus that would suit this POS. Too bad they couldn’t make use of it. But good job soldiers! Close with and destroy the enemy!
Absolutely tragic and avoidable. RIP LtCol Shah and BZ to the cadets who literally ran towards gunfire.

I wouldn’t be surprised is a Soros DA tried to indict the cadet for killing the thug.
The Norfolk DA, Ramin Fatehi (born in Virginia to an Iranian father and American mother), appears to be the very model of a Soros DA.
Maybe Trump did in the wrong Supreme Leader?
Patience....
What a loathsome man Fatehi seems to be in that video. I am equal parts stunned, angry and disgusted that such a person works within the Virginia Government.

I know that was tongue in cheek, DB, but be careful not to swallow your tongue.
Well done to the future military officers who stopped the terrorist threat.
Lord, have mercy.
Memory Eternal! 🕯️
I'm sure ODU was a "Gun Free Zone." Who would possibly think that wouldn't provide protection?
If it was a democatic adminstration the cadets would probably be investigated for perpetrating a hate crime and depriving the terrorist of his civil rights.
It's early. Wouldn't rule out a civil rights investigation to "muddy the waters" as this unfolds. And no, I'm not kidding.
A known wolf, ex-con with previous terrorism conviction, DRT (Dead Right There).
What point to an investigation?
You are being logical. The DA's remarks, and his "analysis" in the face of the facts as currently known, indicate that ideological "messaging" and a healthy dose of "change the subject" diversion discussion are needed to avoid accountability. Really, really wish I hadn't seen this so many times before by the local politicians.
Though not a gun control type, I'm interested in the source of his gun, being a convicted felon, on terrorist charges...
The type Abigail Spanberger will do away with.
Gun control laws only control the law-abiding.
This small piece of feces is proof positive.
Getting a gun illegally is trivially easy. And far less expensive, I understand.
No 4473 is a plus.
They have identified the person who sold him the (stolen) gun

CYA...
Ya know, I think I have had all the cultural enrichment from these people I can stand. De-naturalize and deport.

Six crew members died in the KC-135 collision.
