As I like to do on Thanksgiving, I would like to thank one specific blessing; the US Navy's Culinary Specialists, Mess Cranks, and everyone who makes the extra effort to put together such an important feast for our Sailors on such an important national holiday.
We love you guys ... and maybe we don't say it enough - but even if we do, we'll say it again today.
They made our holidays exceptionally special...and took great care of us every other day. One of my best Christmases was in the Red Sea. While we were sad to be away from family, we had our own family and the MS's (at that time) and the FSA's who were serving away from their own divisions went the extra mile. The Officers serving the food, the CO, XO and SEA passing out presents to each and everyone of the crew, then the Wardroom in Gulf Rig gathering for our own dinner. A memorable time on the USS Simpson!
