Good place to put this I guess....

For those who have had the task of "Alpha Whiskey".

As the Iran dustup started, a work colleague and I were watching the Gulf air picture as DUB and DOH were untenable due to the attacks, as the air traffic flailed about with the many diverts to MCT.

Then we noticed an N (US) registered Piper at about 10000 ft tooling along at about 90 kts. in the middle of the Arabia Sea headed to Pakistan

What we looked like watching this:

Checking, it all looked legit, as the the aircraft had overtly tracked from the States.

W.T.F??

I have been wondering...

A. What the Navy was thinking about that as it happened, considering the aircraft flight track was smack in the middle of all the fun being had.

and...

B. WHY? WHO?

Maybe somebody reading was also aware of this.

Well, the gent flying the Piper has dropped this video...

Goes to show, the air picture in real life won't be like training for the war in the sim. All sterile except for the bandits.

Just. Sayin.

Will rebump this...

If, "Every Marine is a Rifleman", then why isn't every, 'Naval Officer is a Mariner"?

We see movies made about the "Hot Stick/Cool Callsign" Club Top Guns, and the same for the Gladitorial SEAL's.

Where is the celebration of Seamanship skills to even a little bit of the same emphasis?

After all, a "NAVY" should be about "Ships and the Sea" before anything else.

That is not the primary job of any other Service...

So, why does the Navy's leadership dress up like they are in the Air Force and Army?
