She has lived the life, she has fought the fight, and she is right. The leftist idiots that parrot the lines about Palestine are welcome to move there. Let them be the hostages over seas and support Hamas there. We have enough useful idiots here in the US.

Uprooting Hamas will result in the deaths of thousands of people who don't deserve it. But failing to uproot Hamas will result in far more undeserved deaths. There's no peaceful path left. The IDF must nut up, ignore the caterwauling of its enemies, rip off the bandaid, cauterize the festering wound, and be done with this mess once and for all.

Every person who raised a kid to become a Hamas terrorist, every person who made clothing to clothe a Hamas terrorist, every farmer who grew food, every trucker who transported that food, every merchant who sold that food to nourish a future Hamas terrorist... and every Pal voter who voted for Hamas as their government... is complicit. The entire idea of “innocent civilians” is kindergarten-level horseshit.

And if you don’t want it to happen again - kill them all.

Enemies are defeated by Hiroshima and Nagasaki, by Dresden and Berlin. Anything less only shows one cares more about the lives of their enemy than of their own kids and civilization.

As an apostate her words carry no weight with the audience that needs to hear it. If there's none now, we can expect a fatwa demanding her death soon.

She's been there and done that. There are more than a few who think as she does, but are struggling to find her brand of courage. Anyone who has lost a friend from an Islamist terror attack knows what is at risk, and knows the threat must be faced with courage.

She's a role model for young women around the world, including Iran.

Hamas wants peace. At least their definition of it.

Remember how they were calling Hungary & Poland racists for not taking in "refugees"? That's what true statesmanship is, providing against preventable evils.

Edit: DeSantis says no to Gaza refugees. This is the way.

Over 2 decades ago I attended a joint USN-Saudi Navy "goat grab", just 10 days after a blissful liberty in Haifa. The Saudi officer to my right and I were discussing "Middle East peace" and he said the most amazing thing - to paraphrase - Palestinians were like apples in a large crate. If you have 100,000 apples in the crate and you KNOW that at least 15,000 are poisoned how many do you eat? Do you take the chance of 1 and give it to your child? No, you burn the whole lot. And this is why we Saudis want no part of Palestinians.

He also drank red wine, and when I asked about the Koran and alcohol he said the Koran says not to drink one drop, he dipped his index finger into the wine, and flicked off one drop, and said "In accordance with Allah". Revealing to say the least.

Not surprising that HAMAS would attack a music festival. Music represents civilization. The ancient Greek philosophers talked about the music of the spheres. HAMAS and it's backers along with their useful idiots are the common enemy of mankind and civilization itself.

Expand full comment

Islamic theory rejects music (some hadiths treat the credibility of witnesses differently because music was heard from their houses) but the severity of the disapproval differs between groups. One explanation I heard from an Islamic lawyer was that the disapproval was due to music being associated with women.

Music is the classic case of the disapproved thing where people can show their fervor with displays of hostility.

It makes me wonder if many people in the Middle East are not secretly rooting for Israel and hoping they destroy HAMAS. If I were the POTUS, I would channel my inner FDR and demand the unconditional surrender of HAMAS and treat Gaza like Berlin until every last vestige of HAMAS has been destroyed. Just as Germany had to go throug a process of deNazification so too must Gaza go through a similar process.

The conventional wisdom is always wrong. Trump was told that recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital and moving the embassy there wonderful in uprisings in the Arab street. He did so anyway and the result was a big yawn. Now we are told that Israel must be restrained so as not to widen the war. I say unleash Israel and let her burn out the cancer called HAMAS. And if Hezbollah and Iran wish to suffer the same fate then so be it. Let them worry about a wider war.

Agreed. Lots of innocents are going to get caught in the middle and die. But half measures will just allow this to continue. Let the IDF off the chain, and let them eat. It'd be nice to see Iran try and get directly involved as well. Even though we're getting prepared to help cover that possibility, I can see the IDF handling that themselves too, and wouldn't mind seeing it happen. I think this is a great oppprtunity to take Iran down a few notches...

Sal’s reference to the UN schools in Gaza: Go down the list of countries that make up that benighted organization, and you’ll find that the majority have a clear anti-Israel history, and favor dictatorship - which works well for the medieval, martyrdom-seeking theocracy that is Hamas.

Agreeable pov. Are too many of the Palestinians radicalized? Could a nation cleansed of Hammas be reseeded? In any case we should let Israel do what it determines is necessary and simply secure the coast and help with intel.

Hamas is a result of a deeper malaise, not its cause. Hamas is the pustulant ooze flowing from an infected laceration. The gangrenous tissue must be cut away, and the wound cauterized.

I see the various totalitarian groups in the Islamic world as attempted solutions to what is undeniable civilizational rot.

Many of the pillars of Islamic societies are crumbling. If Muslims follow Allah, they are promised power and riches and yet they are poor and weak. Islamic traditions supposedly provide justice but the courts in Islamic countries are riddled with controversy (at best) and there is no easily agreed upon set of principles to reform them (not even vague notions of Sharia). The intellectual class of a lot of Muslim countries quietly mimics the West instead of local traditions and the intellectual shallowness of the local societies is deeply felt but rarely admitted.

Islam inculcates a culture of high self-esteem but the reality of their failure and poverty is so clear as to be wounding. Rather than lower their self-esteem, it is easier to respond with fantasies of totalitarian control and exterminating perceived enemies. A low-trust culture with poor abstract thinking skills (probably a result of a lack of safe debating) means that those enemies are perceived as physical, not abstractions.

Islamic ideology and social structure is emitting terrorism much in the way a decaying atom emits harmful radiation.

I had the pleasure of attending a talk by her at the Claremont colleges (SoCal) several years ago. The program had obviously been made-up by various prog victim studies majors. When she took the stage, she held out the program and basically told the audience ‘none of this is true and tonight we’re gonna talk about all the positives left behind by Western colonialism.’

It was quite entertaining to watch the campus pres squirm in his chair as she laid waste to progidiots.

It was an interesting and educational evening.

Hamas rockets are generally unreliable, and Hamas typically stores explosives, rockets and rocket fuel in or under hospitals. So today we have a report of 500+ Gazan dead, because a Hamas rocket failed and blew up the explosives stored in a Gaza hospital. Hamas hates their own people, which causes them to use their own Gazan people as hostages and human shields.
