I retired in 05, this was already an issue, more on the east coast than the westcoast, 3 months in VA prior to riding a new ship around the horn to SD was enough to prove to me the east coast mentality was a real thing, and a real problem, they don't care about anything but looking good, being good is irrelevant, i can only imagine how bad it's gotten by throwing woke stupidity into the mix.

Excellent article, with one key caveat directed at Lehman, rather than CDR Salamander: The "four key admirals" comment sort of overlooked Spruance.
