10/10. The only thing I would add is that assuming that they want better outcomes than they are achieving is mistaken. America must be weakened and broken in order to be rebuilt. That goal is only tempered by the need to maintain the chaos at a level where they can still be re-elected. The issue of having to worry about elections is being dealt with. Enough election reform and illegsl immigration and they won’t have to bother with worrying about election outcomes. Remember—people who kill babies, work overtime to kill more babies (Yes literally) and kill babies in such a way as to increase profits AND Have killing babies as a party platform are not concerned with voter fraud, selling out America for political gain or anything else. They are devoid of morals.

Most schools have become much more liberal but I don't think it is so much elite schools that are the problem since they have given us good presidents in the recent past, example being George H. W. Bush. I think the Reagan and elder Bush administrations had many members (i.e. Baker boys, Schultz, Kemp, Powell) who would have made great Presidents. I think it is the lack of perspective in our leaders since that time period that is the major issue. To many do not understand what a challenge it is to get to and stay in the middle class. Most have never run a business, never served in the military, and maybe never have had a job other than to work for a member or on a campaign when they left college. Young ambitious sons and daughters get picked up for something after university like working for a member, or in intel, or on a campaign, and flow in and out of Government. So yes, they are damned insular but I think the parties are giving us terrible candidates. We may need more parties, to rewicker the primary process with bake-offs, and we definitely need term limits in the house and senate, and the pensions greatly reduced or maybe even ended, since it is service, not a job. We need corporate money out of politics and why it was allowed by the Supreme Court during the Obama Admin I can't figure out and he seemed to decry it himself. We need to limit contributions to some modest ($7K per candidate ?) amount and only from individuals. My favorite indicator that people have awakened is not the Virginia Governor race, but is that a truck driver beat the sitting New Jersy State Senate President on a campaign budget of $153 dollars. An awesome rejection of elitism.
So, build a better mouse trap. Re-examine and re-see USA's grand strategic condition and best, most rational responses in it. Then one has something to sell.
Perhaps you -- in numerous and distinguished company, including myself -- were wrongly taught in some mega-matter particulars. For example the I. of D.I.M.E. is there to occasion CIA's keeping everyone else in USG -- Vindman's "Interagency" -- "on beam." D, M, and E have their own intel muscle that, when exercised honestly, is perfectly suited to the needs of the nation. CIA are off in their own world of for-profit business, distraction, and mayhem, always wanting to keep USG away from that while also channeling USG's activities down, as their clouds of "philanthropies" would put it, "corridors of opportunity."
