The purge has started in all the services. Unreliable’s must be driven out.

Groupthink. Is that the best place to start? Or will newspeak at USNA begin with softer, kinder words that are just as much a straight jacket on thought? Now, I fully realize that as an NROTC grad, and a self-defined Anglo-Saxon heterosexual male Christian USN retiree, I have no voice in this or any other topic that may or may not touch on diversity of any flavor. But, seriously, people! If this development isn't enough for FOs to stand up on their hind legs and go public, will they ever do so on ANY topic? The core site for naval leadership has just been co-opted. The enemy is not at the gates. The enemy has taken your position and will do with it whatever they choose.

My son is considering USNA and NROTC. He has been fed a milder version of this in high school and it doesn't seem to bother him, but he hasn't had a life event yet that caused him to miss an opportunity or told he is inherently racist. He has what is called for other than no special status and coming out of an area with thousands of aspiring young men and women, so as a 3 star flag told me, it is almost impossible and that his son went to Duke then joined the Navy. My son went to the summer seminar and liked it but I have prepared him for potential disappointment, and after seeing things evolve over the last couple of years I am not sure myself it is best, but in the end it is his call. Since we funded his tuition already and only ever really wanted UVA for him, the only advantage to going NROTC really is to get into an IVY. My gut tells me that I should tell him to aim for early acceptance to UVA, have fun and join the rowing team there.

Yeah, as a young-ish guy I might have been fed the lower-dosage version of this stuff but I don't have the same reaction. However, Cdr Salamander is laugh-out-loud hilarious in his excoriation of it. I'm with him 💯 on the opportunity cost elements of this; what else could those instructional hours be used for?

Good luck to your son!

Any future R president should just say carte blanche any dei faculty or officers will be terminated effective immediately upon his/her election. Run and hide. Your jobs are not secure.

Oh and serving on any of these cancerous politburo boards should be viewed as very negative to future advancement.

The CNO has another corrosion problem and doesn’t even recognize it. I am certain that all of our Official Wokeness terrifies our adversaries. When they are overrun by trannies, simps, LMNOP+++, gender bent reverse transvestites, and other assorted mentally ill and unstable individuals, they will repent their wicked ways and see the rainbow. Sarc off.

Been here for over a decade. We're so deep in the S Curve of Destruction, I genuinely, depressingly feel its past the point of no return.

Am certain there's not an ounce of fat shaming in your remark, Mike. I saw it back in the day when %BF in excess of male and female (that old 2-Gender Navy) standards was excused as "excess musculature" so that the number wouldn't be a harsh ding in evals. I mean, getting "fat" on tacos & beef & bean burritos, fatback & corn bread or poi & lichon is far different from jamming Almond Joy's down my Welsh-American gullet. I just PT'ed harder to pass muster.

34% of white kids now claim minority status in college applications. Native Americans had an 80% plus population growth from 2010 to 2020 census. People are hip to the game. Asians are claiming Hispanic heritage- Philippines are full of Spanish names. It's like South Africa, the Nazis, or the antebellum South. The one drop rule is back. The system is rotten and it's making liars of the kids. Svetlana Stalin told us all about it in her memoir.

I got my two Filipino brothers-in-law here. Both wanted to join the Navy. The recruiter in San Diego turned them away because they were full up on their quotas for Filipino's. I told them to go to a different recruiting station in another city and show them their green Cards and tell them they were Hispanic, which was no lie, the Philippines being a Spanish colony for 400 years and them being at least 1% Mestizo. They both got inducted. One became a BT3 and wisely got out after 4 years. The younger one became a GSE and retired a CWO4 after 31 years, all of it on sea or neutral duty.

It's well past time to shutter the service academies. Keep ROTC/NROTC in place to commission cadets/midshipmen and prepare them for follow on officer training. USNA/USMA/USAFA can remain as a sort of "Sandhurst" (or the USMC Basic School) for newly commissioned officers out of ROTC. Get the academies out of the degree producing business. Marines already have this model in place via OCS and The Basic School.

I appreciate CDR Salamander's coverage on these issues. The Center for Military Readiness just published a new Policy Analysis on the latest advances (in the wrong direction) for the transgenders in the military cause:

CMR: Biden Pentagon Quietly Expands Woke Transgender Policies in the Military (4-Page Summary)

https://cmrlink.org/data/sites/85/CMRDocuments/DoDTransgender4-pager_020623.pdf

The only good news: Some members of Congress really do want to do significant things to end woke-ism in the military. Best, Elaine Donnelly, Pres. Center for Military Readiness
