I once read that geography is history. I definitely believe that geography plus Russian paranoia is both history and future. We can’t fix that, but we can help other countries make the ante on future invasions a lot higher.

Well Done, Poles, Well Done, Czechs! It is a good thing to be able to defend yourself. I hope the Germans, English, and French take note, and follow.

Just because our alleged leaders claim that there is no threat of war , that does not mean anything more than that they are denying reality. Evil remains out there, and the free world had better start acknowledging that, and start preparing. If you desire peace, prepare for war is a truth, not a cliche.

Agree wholeheartedly. It is sad that those who have lived under Communism have to "guide" the rest of us in understanding the evil it presents.

Poles are great troops; the GROM especially. Glad to see the Czechs standing strong too. The Czechs certainly have a history of making great hardware. I saw the moribund plant in Brno in the late 90's; it'd be inspiring to see it cranking again.

Part of the equation is pure economics. Defense industry has no incentive to produce if there are no buyers.. consumption leads to demand leads to profit motive. It’s only natural to see investment increase when war breaks out. It’s what you do when there is no perceived near term threat that defines true commitment to peace. That is the deterrence piece of the equation and it requires political courage.
