Maybe not a good advice, with the prices of next-day (and next-year!) electricity and gas all over the Europe, currency might be devalued into oblivion within a year or two.
As for Germany being NATO partner and even biggest, that's on paper. Maybe your military friends talk differently, but normal people that come to visit Prague don't give the impression of changing the course from mainstream position of anything above noble sounding speechifying being immoral, double for anything military related. Schröder is still "salonfähig", despite the obvious treason, people continuing his policies are getting (re)elected and military still has to put up with broomhandles replacing machine guns. If eurocrats didn't take lesson from 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2014, it's hard to imagine they will learn now. They are the kind of people who would try to stop Russian invasion by denying their armor entry for exceeding emission limits.
Krigl is exactly right. Poland is the only east European country with any military capability, but it would not last long against Russia. The Poles are rightly concerned that NATO reinforcements would be a long time coming, especially given the state of the German military. As distasteful as it might be, the best option may be an agreement with Putin based on Ukraine neutrality. If Germany is determined to commit national suicide, there is little we can do to prevent it.
"save your Euros"

Greens actually opposed Nord Stream 2.
Like this was easily Google-able. Baerbock (current FM) said not to grant the permit as recently as October.
