Hmm... let's see now?? What are recapitalizing at the same time here these days? Or maybe it would be a more manageable list if we focused on what were not recapitalizing at the moment?
I think they are interested mainly in money and power for themselves, just like the Chinese. That is why they are so easily led astray, or even purchased by the Chinese.
If they were actually interested in our Nation's security, the LCS would never have made it even as far as a thought exercise.
Corruption is endemic to ANY government, not just ours.
As for your latter statement; it could happen. People here clutch their pearls over "A second civil war!!!" We're not gonna have another "War Against the States" but another revolution for American Liberty is certainly on the table.
Once again, an excellent although sad history lesson. Refreshing all of your readership on the stupid ( and I might add, self serving) decisions on how we got here is an outstanding part of your daily blog.
I visited the place back in 1972, when it was still under construction for Westinghouse. I was a nuclear engineering student at nearby U. of Florida and Westinghouse invited us for a tour as potential future employees. Afterwards we did a thorough review of the plant plans and the potential safety issues with our faculty and found it a viable and marketable product.

NO. We have not. We are ruled by unserious people in DoD and by criminals elsewhere.
So if America is undeserving of your support, where will you go?
Ain't going anywhere. This is MY country.
The government is undeserving of my support; hell, they're undeserving of anything except jail time.
Perhaps there's something fundamentally wrong with America/your system of government, if you keep having corrupt politicians.
Maybe you should change it. You know, like a revolution.

Falling trust in *every* government institution is a first step to that
I came to NE FL in the 1990s while serving in the United States Navy. I had never heard of this crane issue until now.
Thanks for pissing me off.

The Long Game in DC is just as well-planned and aggressively pursued but it's main weapons are DIE.

I've sometimes wondered what became of the place.
