You have to admit … this was quite the show.
This was the dome on the Russian Senate - in a way the the Russian equivalent of an attack one of the major buildings in Washington DC - the Capitol building.
The Russians put out a rather silly hot take;
Russian government officials are claiming Ukrainian forces attempted to kill President Vladimir Putin with a failed drone attack.
Officials say two drones were used in the "assassination attempt" at the president's residence within the Kremlin compound, but were disabled by Russian defense systems.
No injuries or damage to the residence was reported. Putin was seen in video and photos released Wednesday meeting with a regional governor outside Moscow.
No, I don’t think so. That is not where the smart money is. Neither is the smart money on some kind of Russian false flag.
I think what we’re seeing here is a Ukrainian version of Wing Commander Gatward, Sergeant Gilbert Fern, their Beaufighter, and their flag dropping flight down the Champs-Élysées.
This was a morale boosting mission to tap the Russians on the shoulder to let them know they’re in danger too and not to get too cocky.
Good stuff.
Was that really an explosive, or more of an incendiary device? If you watch the video, the thing doesn’t even perturb the flag and flagpole right next to it, and appears to cause no damage to the structure right underneath it. It seems as if the only function the device actually served was to be filmed.
Badgers love Beaufighters!
