Our actual government with the power is the New Deal administrative state set up for the emergency of the Depression, crystallized in WW2, made permanent in the Cold War that was followed by NATO expanding Eastward, Balkans and other interventions, 9/11 GWOT and now the Retro Cold War (hotter than the original).
Let us not forget our wars on poverty, drugs and viruses, as well as Extremism.
