Mind numbing insanity. This will do so much more damage than good as it undercuts belief that "the system" stands for common sense and treating everybody the same. It indicts the Service. Reminds me of that movie they made us watch after Clinton assumed the Presidency around the time of the intro of "don't ask don't tell." Remember all the hollywood actors telling us how we should think? I remember sitting with about 30 other 2nd Fleet officers. Nobody said anything but there was sighing and disgusted looks all around. Somehow a C2F Chief was assigned the duty to present to us - poor guy.

Can we really say we are "treating everybody the same" with conviction when the Air Force found that there is differential treatment of black and white service members across the board? These findings came to light before President Biden entered office.

I absolutely want to know who’s running the diversity industry. Exactly who and where the money flows. We need full transparency. How can we be a democracy if we don’t even know how it operates?

The usual crowd; Marxists, race hustlers, people with PhD who couldn't hold down a job at McDonald's.

The Pentagon commissioned a study in 2008 that made the case for D&I.

Let me amend my statement. People with a PhD who couldn't hold down a job at McDonald's, but are guaranteed tenure at any university or lifetime employment at think tanks.

I tend to lean more towards the Dave Goldfein school of thought.

Sure, sure. Can't go wrong hanging on Dave's coattails. I tend to lean more towards the Martin Luther King school of thought that what should matter is the content of our character not the color of our skin. For much of my time in the Navy I thought that is what we did. It was as colorblind a meritocracy as you could find in this country. That's why it is so disheartening to see the scourge of cultural Marxism/CRT being pushed by senior leadership. At its heart, DE&I is a divisive tool used to pit demographic groups against one another to achieve political goals. DE&I does not create a more cohesive, effective fighting force. DE&I will not help us defend our nation against an adversary like China. One team, one fight and we are all American sailors. That is the message that should be put out at every level of command.

The Goldfein philosophy is here to stay. He would have made a terrific CJCS too!
