Thankyou CDR great start to the morning.
HA! just two months ago, after going 23 YEARS with no vehicle.....I bought a 1986 AMBULANCE! what a kick to hear you speak of people not driving such a vintage!
We live in a semi-rural area. A neighbor up the road has a 1980's aerial fire truck sitting in his pasture. He's doing something with it because it isn't always parked in the same place.
Thanks for sharing. I thought the best 90-minutes I could spend with my float-coat on was to be kayaking in some remote bayou off the Blackwater River. I was wrong. That podcast was a treat. Could only have been better with some ship's noise in the background. Was surprised to hear the CDR say that he is a Gen X-er, though I shouldn't have been. Boomers are dropping like flies. Our time has passed, but abler folks are now carrying the torch. Makes me happy.
Love the podcast. Still listening. Love the terminology: “accretion” regarding the breakdown of systems. Perfect description. Great shout out to the front porch as well. Wish I could have attended one if the meet and greats.
The orthotics: hahaha amen. I used Dr Scholls in my heels on my boots. Great descriptive of ship life.
Cool! Stogie and single malt play time coming up. Now I have some material to sip to.
Thankyou CDR great start to the morning.

CDR, You are 100% correct - the future has caught up with us. Our enemies know this. Our decision-makers do not appear to care.
Since it is Pearl Harbor Day, a nearly 20 year old reccolection of CWO4 Exum. https://www.usni.org/magazines/proceedings/2006/august/weve-got-take-whole-crew

He’s an early X’er I believe. Like I am.
B. 1948. Meh..."early Gen X-er"..."Gen X-er". That horrid One Drop Rule applies. Don't shoot the messenger.
Twenty years on me! Dad.
Funny we both were warrants and cut of the same cloth.

Ooh! Phib getting all spicy with Cold War terminology! “Udaloy” and “Soveremenny”! Love it. Great cogent comments Sal.
Front porch! Mandatory listen. Report when complete. Negatives required. NRR
Sal did you ever do an OPNAV assignment (N3/N5, or N9?) Just curious.
Laz ... you've been reading my stuff for at least a decade and a half - what pray tell could cause such a question?
Because I did not remember if I had asked you in the past or not. No other motive. Interesting podcast; I had not heard this one in the past.
